What is Gym Starter?

Gym Starter is WA’s most valuable and affordable youth strength & conditioning program – a structured introduction to the gym that builds the foundation for safe, effective, and long-term athletic development.

Many young athletes want to get stronger, faster, and more confident. But stepping into the gym without guidance can feel overwhelming for both athletes and parents.

Gym Starter isn’t just about learning the basics in the gym, it’s about setting athletes up for success now, and preparing them for more advanced training in the future.

Who is this program for?

This program is for youth athletes aged 10–16 who want to get stronger, fitter, and more confident in the gym. Whether you’re just starting out or already competing in sport, Gym Starter gives you the foundation to succeed in sport and beyond.

Do I need gym experience?

Not at all. Gym Starter is designed for everyone – from complete beginners to competing youth athletes.

What if I can’t attend all the sessions?

That’s ok – Gym Starter is flexible. You can attend once, twice, or three times per week depending on your schedule. We know sport, school, and life can get busy; that's why our session times are flexible to suit your needs.

Is it too early to start training in the gym?

Not at all. In fact, this is the best time to build safe and age-appropriate habits. Starting early sets the foundation for future performance and reduces the risk of injury later on. Think of it as investing in your future.

What happens after Gym Starter?

After completing the program, you’ll be ready to transition into our Development Program – a longer-term commitment with performance testing, tailored adjustments, and advanced training for ongoing success.
